My name is Mike Nugent, I am your Captain and the owner of Charter Vessel Wrecklamation. I hold a 100 ton Masters
license from the US Coast Guard and I have been running charters since 1978 . (which makes me feel really old !)

I am a proud member of the Port Aransas Boatmen, Assoc. and currently serve as President. Our assoc. annually
puts on the Port Aransas Deep Sea Roundup fishing tournament, which is the oldest and one of the largest on the Gulf Coast.
This years edition will be the 73rd annual. You can get more info about the Roundup by going to
www.deepsearoundup.com
I also represent our assoc. as a Board of Director of the National Assoc. of Charter
Boat Operators. I am a
member of the Coastal Migratory Pelagic Species advisory panel for the National Marine Fisheries Service and I also serve on the
Red Snapper Advisory Panel. On Wrecklamation, I have all the required state and federal permits to operate a charter boat in the
Gulf of Mexico. Perhaps of more importance to you, I recognize the time, planning and financial commitment that is required of
people who want to come fish or dive with me on my boat. Because of this commitment that my customers make, it becomes my duty to make
sure you have a safe, fun, and productive trip aboard my vessel. One of the things I love about the charter business is the fact that
the anglers on board the boat today don't care what I caught yesterday ! They just want today to be great for them ! That is the
beauty and the challenge of the charter business, to try and produce everyday !
WRECKLAMATION:

My charter boat, the Wrecklamation is an ex-US Navy boat that I bought at auction and rebuilt over a 2 or 3 yr
period while I was operating another charter boat that I owned. Hence the name ! She is a 36 ft. long ,
fiberglass hull that is
made of fire retardant resin and filled with foam which is supposed to make the boat unsinkable . She has a 500 horsepower
diesel engine and you can walk completely around the boat when you are fighting the "big one" !
I have all the safety equipment that is required of charter boats and plenty of modern electronics to help locate
the fish and get us out and back safely . There is a large sun roof on the boat to help protect you from our South Texas heat
and sunlight and there is a cabin with a "head" (boat talk for potty) in it. As far as fishing outfits, I carry everything from
10 lb spinning rods to 80 pound standup combos . Most of fishing involves 30 lb gear. If you have a
favorite or favorites of your own, You are welcome to bring them. Just be sure that the line is fresh and the rod and reel is
working properly.
